Keep Your Skin Safe, While Soaking Up The Sun

Updated: Jul 7, 2020

With the weather heating up, it's only natural to feel the urge to go outdoors and enjoy the sunshine! While the warmth from the sun may feel amazing on the skin (especially after finally putting the colder months behind us!), it is super important to remember to protect our skin, when venturing outside.

Here are a few reminders of how to help keep your skin protected, through the summer months:

1) Remember to apply SPF prior to going outside. Apply sunscreen at least 15-30 minutes before going outdoors. Be sure to use every day; even when it's cloudy.

2) Accessorize your summer outfit with a hat... a pair of shades... or BOTH! Wearing a brimmed hat provides shade to your face, neck and ears. Sunglasses with lenses that have 99%-100% UV absorption provide optimal protection for not only the eyes, but the surrounding skin as well.

3) Limit the amount of time spent in the sun between 10AM- 4PM. During these hours is typically when the sun's rays are most intense. If possible, limiting outings during these hours is recommended.

4) Practice the "shadow rule". If your shadow appears to be shorter than you, then the sun's rays are at their strongest! This is a perfect time to find some shade, or head back indoors, until it cools down.

Until next week Beauties XOXO

Stay Safe! Stay Fabulous!
